Seeta and Vivek - Indian, North + South

Seeta and Vivek and their respective families are from two different parts of India. Seeta, our beautiful bride is from the state of Gujrat. Vivek, our sharp handsome groom is from the state of Karnataka. While one may not consider this Indian-Indian wedding a fusion, the traditions between the two cultures are drastically different. North Indians eat more grains, Southerners more rice. North Indians go around the fire 4 times during the ceremony, and South Indians, 7. Regardless, the love the generated from all that attended, starting with the bride and groom themselves, made this production one for the ages.

While this post tries to encapsulate the day, we at Mint To Be can't even try to explain what transpired. Please feel free to browse through the images, but first a quick 1 minute teaser video from our friends at Fern & Feather.

The first day of the celebration was a sangeet which was hosted at the New England Aquarium.

The bride and groom made their sangeet entrance by ferry in the Boston Harbor.

Guests then made their way into the tent, where Seeta and Vivek lit the diyo (candle) and treated everybody to a round of Garba. Dance performances, dandiya raas and dancing followed on top of the White Star-lit dance floor and tunes of Boston Sound and Light Company. Check out the amazing decor by Alankar Decor and Planners.

For the wedding day, we shut down a major street in Boston for Vivek's baraat. Boston Sound and Light Company, got both the families and the onlookers alike partying right on the street.

Even our bride, Seeta snuck out on one of the balconies of the Boston Park Plaza to join the baraat fun.

After the baraat ended, guests went into the Grand Ballroom for the Hindu ceremony.

Seeta and Vivek surprised everybody at their reception from the gorgeous balcony of the Park Plaza.

Rather than give a speech, Seeta and Vivek used music to express their love for one another.

A thriller flash mob happened.

This wedding was one for the ages. The bride and groom had us all on cloud nine!

It takes a team!!
