Love in the Time of Hurricane: Prashanti and Matt's Tamil-American Wedding at Wychmere Beach Club

Feel free to watch this amazing teaser to get the full synopsis. But we'd love for you to read the entire blog.

Every wedding we plan at Mint To Be Events has a unique story behind it, but Prashanti and Matt's Tamil-American wedding stands out for its resilience, joy, and the beautiful fusion of cultures it represented. Despite the looming threat of Hurricane Lee, their love shone brighter than any storm, and the festivities were held with grandeur and warmth at the scenic Wychmere Beach Club.

The Vibrant Tamil Ceremony

With the looming hurricane outside, we brought the baraat indoors. Of course we made sure we had plenty of umbrellas on hand. Did you know you can buy custom umbrellas? We prefer the "just married" clear umbrellas. Click here to buy them in bulk.

The wedding ceremonies began with a traditional Sri Lankan Tamil event. The Wychmere Beach Club was transformed into a vibrant Tamil wedding scene with traditional Kolam designs, floral decorations, and a beautifully decorated Manavarai under which the couple would take their vows. The authenticity of the Tamil rituals, performed with reverence, added a unique charm to the proceedings.

Prashanti was a vision in her traditional Koorai saree, adorned with temple jewelry, while Matt looked dapper in his Veshti and Angavastram. Witnessing Matt embrace the Tamil traditions with such respect and enthusiasm was truly heartwarming.

The Reception: Dancing the Storm Away

Despite the looming threat of Hurricane Lee, spirits were high as the reception got underway. The Boston Sound and Light Company ensured that the energy levels never dropped, filling the room with music and cheer. The dinner served was a delightful blend of Sri Lankan and American cuisines, a testament to the beautiful fusion that this wedding represented.

The dance floor was a whirlwind of joy, with the couple leading the way. The highlight of the evening was a traditional Baila session, a Sri Lankan dance form, followed by a night filled with dancing to contemporary hits. The hurricane outside was forgotten as everyone celebrated the union of two cultures, two families, and two hearts.

Riding the Storm: A Wedding to Remember

Prashanti and Matt's wedding was a testament to their love and resilience. Despite the challenges, they celebrated their special day with joy and warmth, creating memories that will last a lifetime. We at Mint To Be Events are honored to have been a part of this beautiful journey.

The stunning photography and videography by Fern and Feather Studios captured the essence of this unique celebration, creating a visual treat that will be cherished by Prashanti and Matt for years to come.

We wish Prashanti and Matt a lifetime of love and happiness. May their journey together be filled with the same resilience and joy that marked their wedding day!
