Rashi + Donavan // Lets Dance!

Updated: Oct 16, 2022

When you are part of a wedding where the couple can hold down the floor, you know you are going to be in one heck of a weekend celebration. Throughout all the events, it was quite interesting to see our handsome Vietnamese-American groom, Donavan break it down to Bollywood music. There was a moment during the baraat where we had to ask ourselves if he was better at dancing to Indian music than most Indians. Later in the reception, as the parents gave their speeches, we learned that Donavan and Rashi met at the University of Delaware through the school's Indian dance team - Kamaal Dance team. In fact, it became no surprise that he was actually the President and Captain of the team. There was one point at the sangeet where we nearly had to remind our bride that she was getting married the next day as we nearly clocked her on the dance floor for over 3 straight hours. More than anything, this couple has that charisma that can dance right into your heart.

You can watch the 1 minute trailer below from our friends at Fern and Feather, or follow along with the pictures below:

She sat down first. After the mangal pheras, the bride rushes to sit down in her chair before the groom. Apparently the person who sits the first signifies the ruler of the household.

The bride's sisters (bridesmaids) stole the groom's shoes.

All married. All smiles.

There is a roller coaster of emotions during the vidaii. Some tears...

And with DJ Dee and DJ Yogz from Boston Sound and Light Company at the helm, the crowd naturally danced the night away.
