Subu Kota - 50 Years in the United States

Subu Kota is an inspiration to all Indians who have migrated to the United States. The story is, he came to this country with $8 in his pocket, and now is a billionaire. But more than money, his presence and advice has touched the life of so many. As an Indian based company, we were honored Subu Uncle (as we call him) chose Mint To Be Events to help plan and execute his celebration party. In some aspects, this event was more challenging than any wedding we have done, because every element had to be perfect, especially for this perfect idol. Before we jump into the details of the day, here is a video tribute that was presented at the celebration (click here to be navigated to Vimeo)

In weeks leading up to the event, we were primarily in contact with Subu uncle's three brilliant children, Rupa, Reina and Raj. In many ways, we acted as the mediator for the many inspiration that the children had for their father. In the end what pursued was the following:

A massive tent that could accommodate nearly 400 people in the backyard of the Kota residence.

2 indoor canopies by for Mendhi artist. All the decor was beautifully executed by Shobha Shastry from Alankar Decor.

LED furniture throughout the lawn, and in the tent. As well as 110 LED battery powered uplights. LED Black Star Lit Dance floor. 2 65in TVs on 8ft trusses.

Subu uncle presented a $1M donation at his own celebration to Samarthanam, a school for the blind (seen performing above).
